What are coenzymes?

Coenzymes are organic non-protein molecules that bind with enzymes to help catalyze reactions.

What is the role of a substrate in enzymatic reactions?

A substrate is the reactant upon which an enzyme acts to produce a product.

What are inhibitors?

Inhibitors are substances that decrease or eliminate the activity of an enzyme by binding to it.

Differentiate between competitive and non-competitive inhibition.

In competitive inhibition, inhibitors bind to the active site, blocking the substrate. In non-competitive inhibition, inhibitors bind to a different site causing the enzyme to change shape.

What are some examples of enzymes in the human body?

Examples include amylase (digestion of carbohydrates), lipase (fat digestion), and DNA polymerase (DNA replication).
